Roberto Cáceres is a Peruvian documentary photographer and visual artist. He is the editor and founder of Corta Bolas, a publishing house established in late 2012 dedicated to the production and publication of photobooks, among other visual works.
In 2013, Corta Bolas published Chungui: Al sureste del olvido, a project by Max Cabello that shows how this district of Ayacucho is reemerging after the extreme political violence that marked Peru between 1980 and 2000. Chungui was the daily scene of massacres during that period.
In 2016, Cáceres published El bolsillo del diablo, a photobook on folk healing and witchcraft in Las Huaringas, in the Piura highlands, and in Lima. For this project, he explored these underworlds for eight years.
In 2010, he won an artistic creation grant from the Musée du Quai Branly (France) to produce a series on Chinese influence in Peru, titled Chifa.
That same year, he won second place in the Eugène Courret photojournalism contest (Lima, 2010) for the series Curando tu sombra, in which he portrays the magical-religious practices of healers in the Alto Piura region
